2017 Nissan GT-R Exterior View2017 Nissan GT-R has been just unveiled at the New York International Auto Show. This is probably the most awaited car at the event this year and it caused a major excitement during its global reveal. Not only does the GT-R look better, but it also features more expressive interior as well as better driving performance characteristics. What is more, there are some new extra key features that are making the car even more wanted than before. Here are the details.

The Changes of the Exterior

The front of the MY17 GT-R is entirely changed. As you can see, the most emphasis of the design has been put on the new chrome matte finish "V-motion" grille, which previews one of Nissan's latest design signatures. From the grille flows the new bonnet, reinforced and more stable. The front spoiler lip and front bumper have been updated too for more aggressive appearance.

At the sides the changes made to the side sills give them a little bit pushed out characteristic to help improve the air flow. On the other hand the rear features new bodywork, which also helps improve the air flow. There are also new side air vents next to the quad exit exhaust pipes.

The changes made on the outside contribute for sportier looks, but they also make the GT-R more aerodynamically efficient with less drag but with the same downforce. Furthermore, there are fresh exterior paint schemes for the new model year GT-R, including the "Katsura Orange" (depicted here).

The Interior Design

Cabin's premium interior benefits from entirely new dashboard and instrument panel that are wrapped in the best leather on the market, stitched with TAKUMI precision. From what we can see, we can tell that the dash has been simplified but improved. It integrates navigation and audio controls and bigger 8-inch touchscreen monitor. The centre console has been made from carbon-fibre. The paddle shifts are mounted to the steering wheel, which has new design too.

A detail is that the interior of the Prestige Edition features high quality leather and offers four different options: the newly added Tan, as well as Red, Ivory and all over Black.

Updates for the Engine

The new GT-R is powered by the 3.8-litre 24-valve twin-turbocharged V6 engine. It produces 570 PS (419 kW) at 6,800 rpm and 637 Nm (470 lb-ft) of torque. In other words this means an improved output compared to the previous generation. The powertrain is mated to a refined 6-speed dual-clutch transmission that features smoother shifts and less noise. That familiar GT-R tone also has been "touched" with an engine that has never sounded better. This is due to the addition of the new titanium exhaust and Active Sound Enhancement (ASE).

Running on "sticky" 20 inch tires wrapped around "Y-spoke" machine-finished forged alloys, the GT-R will offer smoother ride quality and one of your best driving experiences ever! 2017 Nissan GT-R will be available this summer, with the famous Recaro Edition soon to be officially announced.
