2011 Volkswagen Jetta is finally here
At the Times Square in New York, Volkswagen has exclusively pulled-off the cover on its next-generation 2011 VW Jetta. Boasting a staggering presence with 9.6 million examples sold globally, the Jetta model represents the German brand's bestseller on the US market. If the new mid range family automobile looks somehow familiar to you, that is not because VW is copying the Golf architecture once again, but because its styling was showcased earlier at this year's NAIAS in Detroit under the title NCC coupe concept car.
Thanks to its new, bigger dimensions in comparison with the previous model - wheelbase (+ 2.76 inches / + 7 cm) and exterior length (+ 3.54 inches / + 9 cm) – the 2011 Jetta strikes with more enhanced performance levels, more spacious interior and greater comfort. And because we mentioned "interior", here is the place to share that the new Jetta's cabin ambience is designed with the finest detailing and high-end materials, and offers huge variety of customization options.
In the terms of power, the newly-presented Jetta will be available for the US with a choice of four different unit, three petrol and one turbodiesel direct-injection engine (TDI Clean Diesel) with 140 horsepower (103 kW), which estimates highway fuel economy of 42 mpg (combined fuel economy: 34 mpg) and directly places the Jetta between the most fuel-efficient vehicles on the market.
In Europe, VW will exclusively marketing the new ride with a choice of six different engines, including the brand's smallest TDI powerpalnt – 105 horsepower (77 kW). A BlueMotion technology version with astonishing fuel consumption - 4.1 liters/100 km - will be also available for the new Jetta.
In the US, the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta's entry level will be priced around $15,995.
