2022 Skoda Vision GT Concept
SKODA Design has introduced a new design concept, the VISION GT, which is an all-electric racing car in the form of a computer-generated model. It is currently being showcased at the 'Design and Transformation' exhibit in Brussels, as part of the Czech Republic's EU Presidency. The VISION GT draws inspiration from SKODA's 1100 OHC concept from 1957 and is part of the 'Icons Get a Makeover' series that reinvents iconic models from SKODA's past, such as the 130 RS, FELICIA, and RAPID MONTE CARLO.
The ŠKODA VISION GT is a featured exhibit at the ‘Design and Transformation' exhibition in Brussels. It is an all-electric racing car in the form of a computer-generated model that draws its inspiration from SKODA's 1100 OHC concept from 1957. The exhibit showcases Czech products and designs from 1990 to 2020, in alignment with the Czech Republic's EU presidency. The SKODA design team has infused the VISION GT with the company's commitment to sustainable sportiness and emotion in the digital age.
The VISION GT's single-seater design, with the driver placed in the center, is based on the SKODA 1100 OHC, featuring a futuristic carbon steering wheel that is flattened at the top and bottom, and a red, open-top design. The active cockpit with a flexibly suspended seat aims to offset g-forces for a superior driving experience. The on-screen bar, located above the wheel, serves as a windshield and displays critical information on the driver's helmet visor, similar to a head-up display.
The VISION GT's design is flat, with clear lines and sharp edges, inspired by the design of Formula E racing cars. The two-piece rear wing is a standout feature, with active aerodynamics to maximize performance. The holographic SKODA wordmark is situated between the upper wing profiles and on the front of the car, referencing the curved SKODA line.
