BMW M2 MotoGP Safety Car
BMW M is celebrating its 25th season as Official Car of MotoGP™ as the Grande Prémio de Portugal kicks off on March 24-26. The BMW M has had a close partnership with MotoGP™ rights holder Dorna Sports since 1999. To mark this anniversary season, the new BMW M2 MotoGP™ safety car, based on the new BMW M2, will debut at the event. The new BMW M2 made its world premiere in October and has a combined fuel consumption of 9.8 – 9.6 l/100 km and combined CO2 emissions of 222 – 218 g/km.

The new BMW M2 is a high-performance sports car that packs a punch with its compact design and 460 hp TwinPower turbo in-line 6-cylinder engine. It has been specially outfitted with safety car features, including a roll bar, RECARO seats, racing harness, fire extinguisher, and safety car roof bar with front light. M Performance parts like the exhaust system, chassis, carbon wing mirror covers, diffusor, and rear wing have also been added. The BMW M2 MotoGP™ safety car sports the standard BMW M safety car livery. Along with the BMW M2 MotoGP™ safety car, the 2023 safety car fleet includes other BMW M safety, medical, and official cars, as well as BMW M 1000 RR safety bikes.
