Audi Reveals Next Prologue Concept Ahead of Shanghai Reveal
It is very pleasing when the day ends with good news. The first one is regarding the Audi prologue allroad concept, which has been announced to debut at the Auto Shanghai. This is actually the third member of the prologue family, which is suitable for all types of roads. Again, it is a hybrid and therefore it is powerful and efficient. This car is a re-interpretation of the typical allroad cars and gives a hit of company's future design.
5.13 meters long, the prologue allroad emphasizes elegance and dynamism. The concept runs on 22‑inch five-spoke wheels, it is painted and Dehua White and features aluminium accents - these are some of the special treatments here.
The front is dominated by the single-frame grille, wedge-shaped headlights and LED light guides. At the back we also have LEDs as well as rear apron with flat openings that integrates the exhaust system.
In fact, the interior is a luxurious lounge. There is everything that one needs in terms of comfort and even more: continuous centre console, upholstered floating seats for the front and rear passengers, innovative horizontal instrument panel, air-conditioning, etc.
More important is the technology which makes this Audi powerful on the road, superior in any terrain and extremely efficient. This is the powertrain of course. The 4-liter V8 TFSI engine is coupled with an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed tiptronic in the name of delivering more than 734 hp (542 kW) of total system output and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque.
This amazingly high output takes the vehicle from 0 to 62mph in just 3.5 seconds. Despite this, the prologue allroad concept is capable of achieving up to 117 mpg and is emitting 56 grams of CO2 per kilometer. In addition, the lithium-ion battery is capable of lasting for 33 miles.
This is a nice start for Audi at Auto Shanghai, isn't it?
