Autoprojecoes has published a nice render picture of modern BMW 8-Series. The project is based on the recently announced Gran Lusso Coupe Concept.

The premium manufacturer is probably going to prepare a direct rival of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. The Gran Lusso Coupe Concept was exhibited at the last month's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The car really impressed the public, so it is a perfect platform for an eventual 8-Series. BMW 8-Series E31 (1989–1999) was powered by V8 and V12 petrol engines and was a real sports car capable of doing 300 km/h (186 mph).

Of course, the future 8-Series will be probably a lot more power and fast than its predecessor.
