Golf Models with BlueMotion Powerplant Units Will be Available in UK
Golf models will be ordered for UK with their new highly-efficient engines. The hatchback, Estate and SV models are now powered with the three-cylinder 1.0-liter 115 hp (84kW) turbocharged BlueMotion engine. Furthermore, the Golf models will be offered and with the special DSG automatic gearbox. With these changes, the vehicles will have numerous economy benefits, while still deliver some good performance. The first delivers of the Golf models in UK will be in September.
Golf models will be geared with one of the most efficient engine units
We have told you already, that the heart of the BlueMotion engines is the 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged TSI powerplant from the EA211 series. Along with the 115 hp the BlueMotion units provide wonderful torque and go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.5 seconds. The top speed is measured at 228 km/h. With the 200 Nm, the BlueMotion engine is one of the best choices in its class.
And now the Golf models, offered in UK will come with some incredible efficiency and CO2 emissions. For example, the Golf hatchback offers 67 mpg with CO2 emissions of 99g/km. This wonderful achievement is possible, thanks to the substantial engine improvements and the aerodynamic tweaks. What tweaks you ask? The chassis is lowered by 15 mm, the radiator grille is now restyled, while the underfloor panels and the rear spoilers also deserved some attention. With all these upgrades the vehicle's Cd value is now 0.28, reduced from 0.29

The Golf models, geared with the BlueMotion will also include lightweight aluminum and compact construction. This helps the Golf models to be offered with overall 15 kg lower weight. Furthermore, the TSI BlueMotion is also geared with a toothed belt, which reduces friction with about 30 per cent. The more, the better, right? And unlike the diesel BlueMotion, Golf models, geared with the TSI BlueMotion also offer and additional trim: Match. It adds additional seven airbags, Automatic Post Collision Braking System, PreCrash System, cruise control, Start/Stop function, and special driver alert. And all the Golf models, purchased with the Match trim also receive special TSI BlueMotion 16-inch "Dover" alloy wheels.
Since its creation, the BlueMotion unit has received some positive feedback, that makes some Golf models really boost their performance abilities.
