Lexus LC 500 and 500h Make North American Debut
The exclusive Lexus models, LC 500 and LC 500h coupes have made their first appearance today at the New York International Auto Show. This is their North America debut and they are being shown together for the first time in front of the US public. Well, we have seen the LC luxury coupe in Detroit in January, but the real debut here is for the LC 500h. Although the car has been premiered in Geneva, the New York preview is important because it aims at the customers in North America.
The flagship coupe in the lineup was inspired by the unique LF-LC concept. As we know, it represents a shift in Lexus engineering processes and design philosophy. The car is defined by aerodynamic shapes, stylish curves and wider stance. Inside, the car has cockpit-focused interior with a driver hip point positioned as close to the vehicle's centre of gravity as possible.

What powers the LC 500? The answer: the 5.0-litre V8 engine which is mated to a 10 speed automatic that drives the rear wheels. By the way, this is the first Lexus model which uses the new rear-wheel drive luxury platform. The latter was designed to deliver enhanced dynamic capability.
On the other hand, the LC 500h delivers exhilarating performance and high levels of efficiency. It uses world's first Multi Stage Hybrid System and absolutely new hybrid powertrain. The system aligns engine speed with throttle inputs, but at the same time offers great balance of power and fuel economy. In addition, it also features 'M' Mod, which includes driver-initiated gear-shifts that provide direct and responsive changes.
At last but not least, the Lexus GS F is also making a US premiere next to the 2016 RX SUV. The latter has been wrapped in a unique color print made by the famous designer Jeremy Scott. Besides these exclusive cars, Lexus will also debut the GS F and RC F "360 Virtual Reality Experience", which will enable visitors to experience the high performance F vehicles.
