The first for Lexus turbocharged petrol engine is here and ready to rock the NX 200t model. The new engine has undergone nine years of development and is currently introducing technical innovations. An example for such is the proprietary turbocharger and manifold designed by Lexus' engineers. The new turbocharged unit gives the NX 200t higher level of performance and additionally it offers customers the choice of a different driving experience.

The powerplant produces 238 hp (175 kW) and 350Nm (258 lb-ft) and also optimizes the potential of the NX Line's stiff platform and all-wheel drive or two-wheel drive driveline. As a matter of fact, the high-performance expression it creates is dubbed as the "urban sports gear".

Despite the extreme performance, the unit is also efficient. The NX 200t is fitted with a six-speed automatic transmission, thus helping the car achieve fuel economy of 7.7 litres/100km on the combined cycle.

World-first developments are included in the new engine. For instance it has a cylinder head with integrated four-into-two exhaust manifold and twin-scroll turbocharger. It also features Lexus firsts including the fuel-saving Stop & Start function, and most importantly - turbocharging technology and the latest fuel injection system.

The technology package is housed in the dynamic L-Finesse exterior design language of the NX Line, within its well-appointed and highly specified interior. This genuine high performance option added to the NX small SUV Line will undoubtedly offer cutting-edge technology and innovation that express Lexus way of aiming for perfection.
