Nissan shows new sketch of a commercial electric concept
Nissan unveiled a concept sketch of a light commercial electric car based on the recently launched Nissan NV200. The future low-cost, zero-emission vehicle can be easily used as ambulance, van or taxi, and it will allow to drive directly into the hospitals or urban areas where CO2 emissions are restricted.
The new van is the first of four electric vehicles that Nissan is preparing for the near future. At Tokyo Motor Show 2009, the president and CEO of Nissan - Carlos Ghosn said "LEAF – the world's first mass market affordable EV – will be launched in Japan and the US in late 2010, Europe in 2011 with global mass-marketing efforts to begin in 2012." He also announced plans to release a four-seater Infiniti electric compact car, as well as LandGlider, the new concept which combines in itself the best of two- and four-wheel vehicles.
