Saab 9-3 ePower is the company's first EV
It is very fashionable to create electric vehicles and here is Saab's first EV – 9-3 ePower prototype. It will make its official debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
Saab 9-3 ePower is powered by 135kW (184PS) electric motor. With such power, the car accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 8.5 seconds and can hit a top speed of 150 km/h (93mph), which is not bad for EV. It can travel up to 200 km (124 miles) on a single charge. The batteries are lithium-ion with capacity of 35.5 kWh, when they are depleted, they can be recharged with a standard household outlet in less than six hours.
The company will put on test a fleet of 70 vehicles, next year.
