Venturi shows the Volage concept at NAIAS 2010
At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the French electric cars manufacturer Venturi Automobiles has presented its innovative concept vehicle Volage. Engineered in close technological collaboration between Venturi Automobiles and Michelin, the Volage concept benefits from Michelin's Active Wheel technology, which incorporates two electric motors per wheel (1 for suspension and 1 for drive), a total of 8 electric motors piloted in real time by spearhead electronics.
The Venturi Volage has the styling of a modern vehicle. Completely made of carbon fibre, the future car's unique bodywork boasts extremely high level of safety. Thanks to its skilfully mastered weight of just 1,075 kg and its perfect distribution (45% at the front, 55% at the rear), the Volage concept is capable to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h for less than 5 seconds.
