Volvo Expands the Hybrid Line
Volvo vehicles continue global expansion with the premium hybrid S60L T6 Twin Engine. The latest member of the family was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show. As you know, Volvo brand is a pioneer in the field of hybrid engine systems. In fact, Volvo is the first company to present a plug-in hybrid and a diesel engine in such application.
The proudly crafted S60L shows a Drive-E four-cylinder 2-Liter petrol engine, that is connected to rear-axle drive electric motor, further powered with an 11,2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This whole combination of technology and dedication brings a total of 306 hp (225 kW) and 350 + 200 Nm with emissions of 49g/km. All these stats make the S60L one of the best performing hybrids on the market today.
In addition to the great performing powerplant system, Volvo team bring us a vehicle with switchable driving modes, that can satisfy the requirements of every customer. The Twin-Engine technology includes three different modes: Pure, Hybrid and Power.
The Pure mode brings only electric energy and brings a range of up to 53 kilometers (29 miles)
The Hybrid variant, as name suggests, both engines cooperate to bring a pleasurable drive and emissions of only 49g/km
In Power mode you will experience the maximum power, that the vehicle can offer. Both the petrol and electric motor bring a total of 238 + 68 hp (175 + 50 kW) and acceleration, measured at 5.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.
S560L can be recharged from a regular outlet, or at home and the recharging time depends on the amperage. The time varies between 4.5 to 7.5 hours.
