Holden Special Vehicles has released a limited edition run of E-Series Senators to co-incide with the 2009 Melbourne Motorshow.The Senator nameplate is one of HSV’s most successful, stretching all the way back to the first model – the VP Senator – in 1992.
It signified HSV moving from a purely performance based car manufacturer to focus on the ‘luxury-performance’ product.

GM Holden has upgraded its Alloytec V6 engine on Omega and Berlina models within the VE Commodore range. The improvement offers fuel savings (ADR 81/01) of up to 0.4 litres per 100 kilometres for petrol models and an impressive 1.3 litres per 100 kilometres for LPG variants.

GM Holden will introduce fuel saving Active Fuel Management (AFM) technology on all its V8 automatic models from January 2009.
AFM, or cylinder deactivation, enables an eight cylinder vehicle to automatically operate on four cylinders in certain driving conditions, before restoring full power when engine demands increase.

Holden’s popular mid-sized Captiva SUV has picked up an AutoChic Car of the Year Award, successfully winning the “Best Car for Mums” category.
More than 25,000 voters lodged their Car of the Year nominations online at autochic.com.au, a website aimed at informing female car buyers.

Holden’s all-new Sportwagon outsold the leading models in the rival medium SUV category in August to help restore Commodore as the best selling car nameplate for 2008.
In its first full month of sales, 1509 Sportwagons were sold driving a total of 4814 Commodore sales for August and 33,043 year to date.
