As a result of the ultra-high demand for the compact eye-catching Opel Corsa, the Russelsheim-based automobile manufacturer has informed that it will increase the production of its urban ride by 16,000 units starting immediately.
The new Corsas will be covered by the brand’s facility in Eisenach, Germany, which will increase its production by 9,000 units, while the plant in Zaragoza, Spain will build around 7,000 cars more than the originally targeted.

The first prototype of the production Ampera today received its initial charge of electricity from the newly installed recharging station at Opel/Vauxhall’s European headquarters.
The Ampera extended-range electric vehicle will use the energy stored in its 16kWh lithium-ion battery to drive the first stage of the 370-mile journey from Rüsselsheim, Germany, to the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, without emitting CO2.
