The new highly efficient engine from VW, the 1.2 litre turbo petrol is now available to order for Polo, Golf and Golf Plus. VW is continuing the tradition by developing small turbo engines from the TSI range. The newest is 1.2TSI, which develops 105ps and 175Nm of toque available at only 1,500rpm. The smaller displacement grants low fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions than its "big brothers".

VW always used six-cylinder engines for their R class vehicles, until now. Golf and Scirocco R come with 2-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines.
The overall power of the TSI engine is 270ps and 350N/m of torque. With this amount of power and the four-wheel drive, Golf VI R is capable of doing 0-100km/h in 5.7 seconds and the top speed is 250km/h (electronically limited). APS of Brackley announced Stage One engine performance upgrade for Golf GTi MK VI.
The upgrade is just an ECU remap for the 2.0 litre EA888 TFSI Engine, which is boosted from 207bhp to 250bhp and the torque is raised from 207lb.ft to 292 lb.ft at just 2650rpm.
On the road these numbers mean that the car will accelerate from 0-60mph in 6.2 seconds and the top speed is 155mph.
