The NISSAN GT-R, winner of the 2009 World Performance Car of the Year, has improved its lap time at the renowned Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany to 7min 26 seconds 70 on April 23.This new time underlines Nissan engineering team's commitment to constantly challenge the GT-R's performance. As production of the European specification Nissan GT-R begins in its Tochigi plant in Japan this month, a raft of small but significant changes have been made to the car as part of its kaizen – continuous improvement – philosophy.

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., will exhibit a quarter-scale model of its new Nissan GT-R as part of "Wa: The Spirit of Harmony and Japanese Design Today," a traveling European exhibition which will open at the Japan Cultural Institute in Paris this month. The Paris event will run from Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008 to Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009.

Nissan announced that deliveries of the all-new 2009 Nissan GT-R are scheduled to begin on Monday, July 7, 2008. More than 1,700 of the exotic 480-horsepower GT-R supercars, or approximately 70 percent of the first year allocation for the United States market, have already been spoken for since the announcement of a pre-sale ordering program last January.
